New Editions to RidgeView family
We are very proud to announce two new editions to the RidgeView family – Jonah Matthew born on the 6/6 to Simon & Mardi and Radley Hugh on the 1/11 to Tamara & Simon. This has meant another new face to RidgeView – our Nanny Jo who we are keeping very busy. We have also welcomed a new apprentice Mark Jones who is enjoying the career change from the office to the vineyard and Vicky Garnett (Plumpton Graduate) has been invaluable in the office whilst Tam and Mardi were away having babies.

RidgeView’s Biggest Ever Harvest
RidgeView experienced their biggest ever harvest in 2006. The quality of the crop was excellent overall. Harvest began early, only a few days later than the hot summer of 2003. The high temperatures at the end of June and beginning of July, along with lack of rain, meant that the fruit set was excellent; and the great temperatures in summer produced a bumper crop.

The Best Sparkling Wine in the World 2005
The highlight for 2005 was winning the Trophy for the Best Sparkling wine in the World – we hope that you caught some of the massive media coverage we accumulated. See below; RidgeView members celebrating the win at IWSC Banquet, Guild Hall in London.

The award winning wine Bloomsbury 2002 sold out within 2 months of release despite us restricting our private customers to 1 bottle per person. This has meant that we have released Bloomsbury 2003 slightly earlier than planned although 2003 was a spectacular summer that produced very high sugars and high yields.

This years harvest was close to the record of 2004. A very dry September/October resulted in lovely concentrated fruit flavours, in particular the Pinots, so fingers crossed we may be producing a Knightsbridge.

Sales have yet again been beyond expectations and we are planning for the future to keep up with forecast demand. We have planted an extra 5 acres in partnership with a local land owner and we are consulting with many other growers across the South East. With the aid of funds from DEFRA we have purchased new equipment to increase productivity in the winery including a computerised riddling machine, labelling machine and capper/bidduler for bottling.
