Ridgeview Grosvenor served at Irish State Banquet

Ridgeview's Grosvenor Blanc de Blancs 2009 was served last night at the Irish State Banquet held at Windsor Castle.  The state banquet was held by Her Majesty The Queen as part of the historic state visit by the Irish President, Michael D Higgins.

We are honoured to have had our wine served at the banquet which was viewed as a ‘symbolically significant act for British-Irish relations’.

Please see here for an article in The Telegraph regarding the banquet.

"Would I admit to my French friends (who make such glorious wine) how often I drink English these days? Yes. Proudly."

Hugh Johnson

" Here’s one of England’s finest fizzes, with lovely freshness, lemony acidity and a bit of toasty richness. Quite complex and brilliantly balanced, this would convert any sceptic."

Jamie Goode

"… Today’s king of fizz is Mike Roberts of Ridgeview Estate."

Anthony Rose

"England's vinous glory: fizz made in the image of champagne.  Alluring and zesty - a sort of rustic Bollinger."

Jancis Robinson

"If the Champenois get to taste this ...They will be booking their seats on the Eurostar."

Tim Atkin

"Thank you for a wonderful visit and a sensational tasting. I greatly enjoyed visiting Ridgeview and tasting your delicious wines.  Many congratulations for your great work."
