Ridgeview were awarded a Gold Medal for our new release Rosé de Noir 2014 at the prestigious Champagne and Sparkling Wine World Championships 2018. This was the first time we have entered our new 2014 vintage wines into competition and were elated to receive a Gold as well as two Silvers; for the Ridgeview Blanc de Blancs 2014 and Ridgeview Blanc de Noirs 2014.
The Champagne and Sparkling Wine World Championships pride themselves on being the only kind in the world which put every sparkling wine from around the globe to test, tasted blind by the world renowned sparkling wine judges Tom Stevenson, Essi Avellan MW and Dr Tony Jordon. Respected by the trade and producers as one of the most reputable sparkling wine competitions in the world, Ridgeview are thrilled to have achieved so highly for these latest release wines.
The Ridgeview Vintage range of wines are only made in the very best of years with limited volumes. 2014 vintage was wonderful weather at all the right times for the vines. Harvest was one of the earliest ever recorded resulting in good yields with perfect sugar levels and acidity for sparkling based wines. The pinots performed exceptionally well so our winemakers were particularly excited about the Pinot based 2014 wines, and Gold in the CSWWC has confirmed their expectations.
We launched our striking new branding in May with a bold move away from classic and traditional packaging, to a contemporary, modern and proudly English design. The vintage range contain a luxurious new black design with a pop of colour in the neck labels which wrap around the bottles in celebration. We are very pleased to be celebrating the launch of these new 2014 wines with such fantastic results.
