The rest of the Royal Family went on to the London Guildhall for a reception for close to 2,000 people where Ridgeview Bloomsbury 2009 was again served.
Founder and Winemaker of Ridgeview, Mike Roberts, commented : “As a family we feel very proud that our English sparkling wine is being served on such a momentous occasion to celebrate our remarkable monarch, Her Majesty The Queen. This is such a wonderful honour and acknowledgement of how far our English sparkling wine industry has come to be chosen for such a special Royal event”.
In May 2012 Mike Roberts received an MBE for his services to English wine at a ceremony in Buckingham Palace.
