It began with a pioneering vision nearly 30 years ago: to create exceptional sparkling wine in the heart of Sussex, that would be celebrated around the world. Many thought it couldn’t be done, but we were set to put English winemaking on the global stage.
We found a beautiful spot beneath the South Downs Ridge, perfectly positioned to grow the traditional grape varieties used in the world’s finest sparkling wine. With passion and determination, we became leaders of the English wine revolution.
Today, we are led by the second generation of our family with a globally acclaimed, award-winning range of English Sparkling Wine that makes every occasion something to celebrate.
As specialists in cool climate viticulture and sustainable winemaking, our philosophy remains today as it always been: exceptional quality from vine to glass.
We use only the finest, perfectly balanced grapes, handpicked in bunches and gently pressed. From fermentation through to ageing, blending and bottling, our winemaking team combine traditional methods with contemporary expertise.

Alongside hand-picked grapes from the heritage vines on our home estate in Sussex, we partner with premiere vineyards across Southern England to source superior fruit from some of the greatest growers around.
Dedicated to their land and the grapes they grow, each vineyard plays an important part in the Ridgeview story.

Ridgeview story begins when Mike and Chris Roberts establish the business by planting our first vines in Ditchling, Sussex
We build England's first underground wine cellars and our winery becomes operational
Our first bottling is released and wins English Wine of the Year
Our Bloomsbury 2002 wins IWSC Best International Sparkling Wine
Queen Elizabeth II celebrates her 80th birthday with our Blanc de Blancs 2004 served at her banquet
We begin international export and ship our first cases to Norway, Finland and Japan
